Veto power – not the tool we love, but the tool we need?

The issue of the veto power has recently come to the forefront of attention and debate both on global and European level. This usually happens when current political events draw attention to something. Today this is related to the Russian aggression against Ukraine (reviving the debate earlier related to other issues): among the debates within the European Union, its operation and future, the question of the right of veto belonging to individual member states had already featured prominently in the decision-making process of the EU, but the need for unanimity with regard to sanctions against Russia gives it a special relevance.

“Lejelentett” igazságügyi reform

Aszongya a kormányinfó című abszurd dadaista monodráma, hogy “az igazságügyi reformcsomagot is lejelentette a kormány az Európai Bizottságnak, innentől kezdve 238 millió euró 85 százalékára számíthatunk”. Lejelentette. Az uniós jogi terminológia ilyet nem ismer, de ettől függetlenül nyilván innentől kötsögbrüsszel, ééééés “elküldjük a számlát”. Lejelentette. Megcsinálni, azt ugyan nem akarja, de hát bizonyos típusú emberek gondolkodásában a “jelentés” is elég. Az EU meg nyilván úgy működik, ahogy az egységsugarú BT-s vállalkozó elképzelni, “elküldjük a számlát”, oszt’ jónapot.

Na most nekem igazából nincs komoly gondom a hülyeséggel, az annak nézéssel sem, csak azt nem értem, hogy miért kell meglepődni, sőt, megsértődni, hogy az egész világ nem akar hülye lenne a kedvünkért. Csak azért, mert ahhoz vagyunk szokva, hogy Magyarországon a nagy többség az, a világ többi része, különösen azok, akik pénzelik ezt az egész cirkuszt, azok nem azok.

És nem, a tanárok fizetésemelése nem ettől függ.
